Many of you know that I am a strong proponent of making dietary changes your number one priority for health and healing. As a physician, I’ve studied a lot of literature. I’ve read the studies that have shown that organic produce is more nutritious than conventional produce. I’ve read the research that has shown the negative health consequences of meats, eggs, and milk with added hormones and/or antibiotics. I am aware of the negative health consequences of genetically modified foods. But, even though I’ve been aware of all of this information and much more for a while now, I didn’t make the decision to change my lifestyle until I had a personal and direct reason to.
What I’m trying to say, is that every day I talk to many people dealing with various health conditions. Even though each person’s situation is different, one area that can not be overlooked for each case is the diet. As you can imagine, this is a very sensitive issue for a lot of people. Many people are resistant to change. I know from experience that I did not appreciate the true healing potential of food until within the past few years. I’ll be the first one to admit that I used to follow the typical Standard American Diet; high in refined carbohydrates, sugars, and unhealthy fats laden with chemical additives and preservatives. It’s not like I purposefully looked for these types of foods to consume, but the busyness of life caused me to want a short-cut in some area and for me it was food. We can all admit to times when life was so stressful that the last thing we wanted to do was worry about what we were going to eat. We’ve all headed for the fast food line, pizza shop, or grocery store prepared foods in order to free up some time. Unfortunately, these foods are filled with unnatural compounds compromising our health.
As a doctor, I knew that my bad habits would catch up with me. Unfortunately, my bad habits also became my family’s bad habits and that’s when my wife and I realized that no matter how difficult the change would be, we needed to make healthy, consistent choices on a daily basis in order to keep ourselves and our children healthy. We were both at a point when our bodies were in crisis. It was at this point that I really began researching and studying what I needed to do for long term health. I wasn’t looking for a “diet,” I was looking for a long term change. Thankfully, through a lot of hard work, I was able to determine a meal plan, supplement guide, and exercise regimen that has been the most positive change I could have ever made for my family and my patients. Together, my wife and I have not only lost weight and strengthened our bodies, but we’ve set a real example for our children and others that eating healthy can be done under any circumstance on a daily basis. There is so much to be said about being able to get up in the morning and make it through the day without becoming ill from exhaustion. Believe me, I was there. Now, by consuming the proper foods my days are more consistent.
Of course, I still get tired, but not like I did. Only those who have committed to this plan can understand exactly “how good feels.” When you can actually feel a positive change in your life, it becomes extremely hard to want to go back to feeling so bad. I want to be the one to challenge each of you to decide to make a change in your life. When you’re ready, come set up an appointment to talk to me. I’m here and excited to share what I know works. I’ll be here to guide you every step of the way.
